Ethereum platform has its own virtual machine and programming language for writing smart contracts, which allows various decentralized applications.
Corda, built by R3 consortium, is a permissioned distributed ledger technology designed for commerce. Corda is a shared infrastructure that allows institutions to eliminate duplication of data recording and reconciliation. Unlike traditional blockchain structure, Corda is the need-to-know basis, in which data is not broadcasted to all nodes, only those who need to see it.

Fabric allows components, such as consensus and membership services, to be plug-and-play. Fabric leverages container technology to host smart contracts call ‘Chaincode’ that comprise the application logic of the system.
Tendermint, developed by All In Bits and other contributors, is a BFT based consensus protocol that has finality in every block without a fork by its design. Cosmos, proposed by the same contributors, is a public blockchain technology built on Tendermint which provides interoperability between blockchains with intercommunication of multiple blockchain hubs and zones.
EOSIO, a software developed by block.one, is a blockchain architecture that runs decentralized applications with a horizontal and vertical scalability separating authentication from execution. The software provides accounts, authentication, databases, asynchronous communication, and the scheduling of applications across many CPU cores or clusters.
Stellar, maintained by non-profit Stellar Foundation, is an open-source protocol for value exchange with an FBA consensus algorithm. The Stellar network allows various assets including cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies to be exchanged and the value network brings economic scalability with a scheme of gateways and market-makers.
